I hate throwing stuff away...

And I have to admit, I have a collection of electrical wiring scraps in my box of wiring stuff that I just can't seem to part with. Even though I have spools of new wire in whatever gauge I might need I HAVE to poke through the rats nest of scraps before cutting a new piece.

You haven't been zooming in on my shop & workbench photos, have you????

My brother and I had to clean out the attic of our parents house after my father passed last year. I never knew my mother to be a hoarder but do you have any idea how many shirt, shoe, and gift boxes you can accumulate in 61 years living in the same house?
Yes...my two sisters and I did the same drill...we brought in a mid-size dumpster to deal with all the accumulated treasures my folks had stashed away over the many years.
That process can get pretty traumatic. My sisters set up their own review process of whether or not my decisions on what to pitch and what to keep was approved.
I got so pissed off at them I said do it yourselves. 2 days later they asked me to come back and help, seems progress in clearing out the house stopped when I bailed out on the job.
The emotional attachment people develop toward specific belongings can be really powerful...and to others appear totally non sensical.

I was rebuilding my laundry one day and remover the twin concrete wash tubs, made a herb garden out of them but under the tubs was 2 bottles of home brew beer that I made 30+ years ago when I had the brewy going lol, the caps had rust on them I use to mark the tops so I knew what they were, well I decided to put them in the beer fridge where they stayed for some weeks wasn't sure about them but one day my mate came up and I said well lets see what happens when I crack one open, to our surprise when I cracked the top off it went psss and the beer started to bubble up like they use to when they were fresh, so got my beer glass out and started to pour it into the glass, a nice head and lots of bobbles it looked like it was made 3 weeks before.
I always added an extra 1/2 kg of sugar when brewing, then the taste test, I use to brew Coppers Draught and this beer was so nice and hadn't gone off in the 30+ years its been sitting under the tub, in fact it went down so well we cracked open the second bottle, it was one of my malt beers and same thing a lovely head and bubbled its guts out.
After drinking them 2 large bottles I wanted more they were so niceeeee, made me want to start brewing again but when I was doing it all thoughts years ago I put on so much weight and was turning into a piss head, so stopped brewing, but I still like a beer or 2 on a hot day and today its very hot and humid.
Just proves natural brewed beer don't go off.

What you have is a great tool for holding the sprocket while tightening a nut or two. Also good for attaching to your current chain whilst pulling it through and removing it. I have one just like yours and also a 520. You can completely justify keeping it.

Beer does not keep that long with me around, from the river to the liver maybe 30 days not 30 years, you were brave to open them and I would have had safety glasses on

Same with me but under the tubs was a very dark place so just must have missed them all them years ago, as for opening them I had the bottles pointing away from me, but they opened OK, I use to use the tubs for cleaning my bottles before filling them with fresh brew, with the price of beers these days and the high tax on brought beer, am thinking about brewing again as I made a great beer.

If you do woodworking, you know all about 'offcuts'....
I save those, too.

I had a 24 x 36 x 12 cardboard box full of 2x4 offcuts after framing my barndo build-out. Used EVERY LAST ONE when it came time to installing the floor decking.

Around here, we can just put stuff out on the curb and it typically will be gone before dark. Sometimes I cruise around looking for good stuff!

I got a Craftsman table saw and a large Shop-Vac a couple of years ago, both work fine!

Off the curb?!

YEP.

Actually, that one was on our HOA fecebook group.

"Table Saw @ (address), come and get it"

When I got there, he had added the Shop Vac.

I went ahead and knocked on the door to thank him. Nice guy.
If you want to drive to NJ I‘ll put a Craftsman bandsaw at the curb …

Around here we call that kindling wood

DANG!!!! I want a bandsaw so bad...

How about you box it, weigh and measure it, and I'll have FedEx pick it up?

hee hee

(half way serious)
In all seriousness I would happily do that grandpaul but it’s not worth it - ancient and needs bearings.
