This post is for information. As many already know, the crankcase oil / air breather separator fitted to the 961 is actually a Yamaha R6 part, but is currently listed on Partzilla as unavailable. The part number is 5EB-15371-00-00

Surely a Yamaha dealer would be able to help?

Quite possibly, but it was difficult to find this part, which is why I posted it. I don't suppose it is a high volume seller though.

I removed mine some years ago and never a drop of oil in the perfume bottle

Have you tried the breakers yards over your side of the pond? You have the images, all you need is somewhere breaking an R6 and you're sorted. Even worth signing up to something like an R6 owners FB page

Just had a quick look on ebay

Nice one Stu. THB, I never thought of looking for "Engine ventilation"
I actually searched for R6 breather....I think ebay translated that for me, as those listing are in Germany. But it shows how easy it is to find stuff. Keep it simple in the search box.

Hi Cliffa , I am waiting to see if Norton will come good on my parts enquiry .
Spoke to Gary (with the high mileage 961) yesterday. He’s just got back from the UK where he did the Norton factory tour. He purchased parts while he was there including a complete clutch. It took 5 weeks to arrive at his door. Guess we’ve just got to be patient.

4 years ago at SG Donnington Norton a complete clutch was £800 , I had mine refurbished along with few other bits

To be honest, £800 for a complete clutch basket assembly including starter ring, sounds mega cheap to me.
I expect it to be double that now. I hope I am wrong . I would love to have a new TVS Norton clutch basket .

Hello , I have been able to get an order from Norton Motorcycles for the air/oil separator ! I will post a photo when it comes in and also ordered other parts from them which I will post. Looks like they have a source for these and the prices were reasonable ! Should this be posted in the new Norton parts thread ?

This won't include friction plates , steel plates , springs or pressure plate . Pictures of the new clutch assembly would be very nice . It will also be a treat to have a well made clutch in this engine.

It is a well made clutch in these engines....well...post 2016 at least. Before that time, it was all a little hit or miss, hence why I always recommend a primary strip and inspection on anything prior to summer 2016.
