Another newbie

I just purchased a 73 850 Commando Roadster (also have a 71 T120, a 70 BSA Victor and my project 1965 Atlas). I have been checking out this site and it really looks like there is lots of good info. I am the 2nd owner of the Commando and the the original owner bought it while in Europe from one of the Dunstall dealerships. I have all of the sales paperwork and I convinced the original owner to file for a duplicate title so I also have the original title specifying that that the bike was purchased from "Paul Dunstall, London".

I am slowly going through the bike (Carbs, wiring, clutch, etc) and I am hoping to get some miles on it and ride it to the INOA rally in July. It has the 2-1-2 exhaust but the original mufflers are long since gone and now it has shorty knock off Dunstalls. It does have the Dunstall center stand but the center spring is weak or stretched and the stand is wired up. Does anyone know if the spring is the same as the one on the stock Commando?

Hello and welcome to the nut house.

I haven't a clue where you'll get a Dunstall spring, however, search for spring manufactrures and suppliers with online catalogues and you'll find a spring that will fit no problem.
