Wish I knew how to use a 3D printer.I couldn't open my dipstick by hand because it was too tight.
And I didn't want to scratch the finish on the dipstick.
So, I drew and printed this:

Yes FE , I took your advice , bought one and can say it works well. I have come to grips with the tightening/over tightening of the oil dip stick and seldom need to use the tool now. Definitely , DO NOT use the tool to tighten the dip stick cap ! Only just finger tight. For those without a 3D printer… Ollie Thiele sells similar…
Nice job, I wish the previous owner of my bike had known about this ..I couldn't open my dipstick by hand because it was too tight.

Goodness ! You've got 17,000 miles on your 961 ? You are in the upper tier for sure !After having problems loosening mine after a factory service , I made a tool for next time. Curiosity got the better of me and I wondered just how tight it needed to be before it leaked, so I tightened it just finger tight and still do and in 17,000 miles it has never come undone once. It's as if it tightens itself up as you go along............Spooky.
Hi. I have just had some of these printed. Thank you for sharing this. Regards. GrahamI couldn't open my dipstick by hand because it was too tight.

Probably should be careful with that Norton logo, that could pay off all of their debts. So with the Norton insignia, the part becomes an unauthorized "genuine Norton" tool.
Impressive!
