What's happening at Norton? Sale to TVS, massive investment, new bikes...

With the figures coming in from the manufacturers, Norton's idea of profitability must be very different to others. One manufacturer is reporting 91 million euro's profit with sales of 436,000 bikes.

I am intruigued by Henschel’s comment that we are developing the TRAVEL and merchandise areas…. what did he mean ? … answers on a holiday postcard please!
Maybe in the future they will offer travel packages from the UK for factory tours at their manufacturing facility......

How can Buell, which has been in business this time around, about as long as TVS owned Norton. With way less money, and yet, Buell offered all of these bikes for sale now or near public release?

A plus for me is, they’re local.

See you in another 5 months.

Hi Voodooo , Did you get to drive one ?

Don’t know where this quote came from Jan, but maybe a throw away merchandise/accesories/clothing comment? They sell a few ‘travel’ products - maybe they intend to extend that line. After all, everyone needs a Norton eye mask when flying!!

More bikes, less bottles please😆!

A great article in this weeks Motorcycle Sport and Leisure by Alan Cathcart about TVS. When you read this and worry about a £38 million loss, it is absolute peanuts in the overall scheme of things. TVS probably spend more than that on toilet paper every year , just read some of the statistics and history about the company they made over three million motorised vehicles last year so if any company can make Norton viable again this is the one. Don't get hung up on who owns the Norton name just take half a dozen very well known British branded firms/companies and delve into who really owns them that will shock you.
Get yourself a copy today or blag one and have a good read of this article , written by one of Britain's best journalists .

For the UK members, that may not have seen this. Another good opportunity to nosey around and ask awkward searching questions! Tickets £15 ~ should be free really, although they are raising funds for charity also.

70 x V4’s built for previous orders - that’s higher than expected! I’m guessing they’ve got V4 and 961 figures crossed.

A bit of an indicator of intent maybe, for those doubters amongst us!;)

An accountant - responsible for Manchester United business affairs, one of the biggest clubs in the world. Let’s hope he can spread some ‘magic dust’ on Norton’s balance sheet going forward!
