Just collided with a car that decided the rules of the road did`nt apply to it.
Ran into the drivers door, my footrest took all the impact tearing a 12" gash in the door panel. Apart from a bent footpeg, my bike does`nt have a scratch on it.
After riding it home, still a bit shocked i suppose, i noticed nothing different. Took it out yesterday and it was vibrating pretty bad.
Now it has always vibed about the 2700rpm range but this is worse. Ive reset the verniers but it makes no difference. Could the impact have damaged them? The footrest is connected to the frame not the iso`s.
How do you check for misalignment if any.
Did`nt want to claim on insurance ,but if i have to does anyone know who in the uk are insurance approved for nortons.

well the foot peg is attached to the Z plate, which the rear iso is also bolted through, so it may have damaged the rear iso? People can't drive, they seem to be doing everything BUT driving. Some lady on her phone almost crossed the center line on me today, but i was driving a 56 ford pickup, that would have ended badly for her!

That sucks big time and impressed on the foot long gash you left but its the risk we all take with out butts in any saddle. Expect some annoyances to show up in your self a few days after impacts and nerve/spine inflammation swell up before settling down. I'd first suspect the head steady got tweaked to bind more than the basic chassis/isolastics. I'd had a number of pegs knocked off the stalks and stalks bend into the cases but didn't seem to bother the chassis for increase in vibes, but have droppped bike, or rather knocked TF down by something that left the head steady binding to vibe till that reconfigured to neutral again. If head steady ain't the issue then suspect the Zplates mount got skewed on one side.

BAD NEWS. ANY CRASH IS BAD,IF YOU WALK/RIDE HOME OR NOT. EVERY TIME YOU GO OUT THERE YOU ARE ROLLING THE DICE. GLAD TO HEAR YOU ARE OK. AGREE THE Z PLATE MOUNTING IS PROBABLY SKEWED. THE TRU BOLT BENT?

After good solid crashes I have learned to expect delayed electrical gremlins in older looms. One of my recent women hesitating then pulling out events was with my head light off, so could say I was at fault as high bean is my intended routine. Todays event was a woman's little dog dashing in zig zags as I laid over into a long elevated hwy sweeper at 60 not knowing which way to go while sensing the smooshing doggie rolling the tires out from under but he got smart in time and zagged away from me a few bike lengths fraction of a second to spare.

I got a bit of cycle related PTSD so half the time the urge to ride strikes me i get so pensive I talk myself out of it. Yesterday was like that, thinking how I'd lucked out on close ones last month so hoped to build some good karma doing home maintenance, then out the blue Wes rides up grinning and confident. Felt like a penguin shoving mates in the water first, but tossed logic aside and had another good memory maker. Wes had delayed me putting paint sealer on a new car I'm having to barrow, so didn't get the sealer on, realized I'd heavy grit coat the cleaned surfaces, so this am, forced to throw caution to the wind and ride the gantlet and back again. Get along little doggie a big dog coming through.
