Pretty cool staying in drifting mode all the way around. I'm got hard points now on a Commando for my old age hazards.

The modern four cylinder sidecars are much faster, and stay on full throttle all the way round.

With no brakes, this should really give any old biddy’s a heart attack :!:

It is more dangerous if the bikes are fitted with brakes. My brother had his kawasaki 750 sidecar jump into the back of a slower outfit when it came on power.

I almost missed looking in again Acotrel, glad to see no gore but appreciate you sparing your mother needless worry and premature aging. Me of course just leaned forward in my ole rocker - grimacing the whole time till the very end! I love it , must try it myself, the state of mind to keep the rear spun up thrusting more like a jet boat than a cycle all the while oscillating the forks like a boat crossing wake to keep the whole flank in effective turning traction. Whew. I know what the brake danger is in those states on two wheels, no slowing action at all just sudden spins out of control. That is the level of commitment Peel allowed on THE Gravel and old hwys, but only for short times d/t zooming in hazards. I would love to be a dusted monkey as built like one and act like one and ok look and smell too I'm told.

Rider Alan, feel to the bloody marrow the state of sheer glee I want you to be restless as me for more...

Your on your Seeley all warm and cozy fine tuned to its behavior so just feeling it around at your whim pressing harder and lower sooner and sooner winding up tighter for the release after apex, rear rubber smearing to butter, then NAIL it for jet thrust freedom those side hacks can't get enough of either. Its groin spiking like jumping off a dock into dark water with shark shadows seen below. Its like jumping between buildings you ain't sure you can.

First stage of sliding is the crossed up flat tracker style, so need room to fly wide. At good speed the balance point is reached naturally and rather stable so uncanty easier to control and look forward too. That's pivoting on rear tire type action as the front is definitely in effect and steering direction of rear slide.

Next stage is what Stoner explained, pivoting on front tire by over powering rear just enough to get it skipped around to aim thrust for best acceleration. That 3/10 sec power cut is to get the hi side fling to other side to nail it again.
He says front gets loads to point of 'pushing' then skips or eases rear around it as front stays in traction but keeps pointing bike into turn not out of it like like above.

Last stage sliding pivots bike on CoG, both tires in loose or no traction, similar to the side cars while under rooster tailing thrust, yet w/o much lean, similar to side cars, with instants of straight steering, similar to side cars, plus no let off going into through or out of murderous loose turns, similar to side cars and no thought of any brake, similar to side cars. That's what I call phase 5 power handling. I have not done much of it as too fast to survive in public and needs gobs of power to do it fast as I want too on one iso Commando in particular.

Quit winding me up ok.

Our mother would have gone ballistic, if she had ever seen the video of my brother looping the Kawasaki 750 sidecar. She never mentioned my own racing to me, but she told me all about my brother ra cing. We had a beautiful young kid killed in a sidecar on speedway years ago, and she often mentioned that. It really upset her, but she was sort of OK about us racing, she knew we are both extremely careful, and pay attention to detail. There are certain type of races we never compete in. If were are racing - WE RACE ! - Never get involved in bullshit - handicaps and demos are dangerous. The bit of video with the 880JAP was taken at a demo, however the guys ride them as a race, it is safer that way.

I built this in 1979 and raced it thru to 1981 it is a 850mk3 with shurock supercharger running methanol thru a 1-3/4 SU carb with twin float bowls [which gave it enough fuel for 1/2 lap when the fuel pump crapped out] after this I built a GS1000 unit and sold this off to a freind who campained it for a while and the recked it out some time later, i whish I still had it.

Wow possm what a beast for me to see! What happens when blower throttle shut off, does it shut down like normal carbs or is there some delay to power to wheel? Is there much engine braking drag on let offs? What did you use to mix fuel and air?
