If you trace it back far enough, ALL land title is subject to dispute because at some point someone took it at the point of a gun.

Hear in the U.S., the feds claim to own most of the West but they got it by way of the Louisiana Purchase or by the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo that ended the Mexican-American War. Well, in both instances no one asked the Native American Indian Tribes about it. They just took it, by force of arms and apparent non-occupancy, or by common law right of prior appropriation, or non-governmental homesteading. Heck, even the Indians' claims of ownership might have been challenged by other Indians. And, if you ask the animal rights activists, I'm sure they have an opinion too.

The same applies all over the world. Britain included.

You don't have to worry about the American Indians, they are all in the back of my TV. In fact I was surprised back in 1985 when I visited Colorado and there were a couple by the side of the road selling things - probably imposters put there by Hollywood ?
In New Zealand there are real live Maoris who have land rights and a treaty with the government. The white eyes are very careful not to break THAT treaty and have another Maori war. They have really great bikie gangs in Auckland. You have just got to love them, they are bloody hilarious unless you end up fighting them - they really love that. I know where there is a pub in Melbourne which is usually full of them, I'd be glad to take any of you guys there to meet them - bring lots of bandages.

Ugh TV = Idiot box and I sure had my share don't ya know. Florida has Indian group of tribes known as the Seminoles with Chief Osceola the most famous warrior and taken by US Federal Calvary under a white flag for a pow wow as US getting its ass kicked. Florida land-bank developers were the motivation. Seminoles were never conquered, remain outside US jurisdiction and got their act together so instead of gigging fish on side of hwy for family and gator shows they own Hard Rock Cafe globally. I'm the only one left that knows where Osceola remains are after my brother Dale quit the place. The 1/10 of a mile long all day and night machine gun firing line with everyone walking around packing for a weekend was on Indian land and not a Gov't badge in sight though I'm sure a handful there taking it all in. The American from of confederation of independent territories/peoples was from North American Natives not stuffy old world kingdoms-religions for profit. I played cowboys and Indians with whole neighborhood tribes at times but often had our own Indian tribe wars with sticks and spears and arrows drawing whelps and blood. Screw the cowboys, mommas don't let your children grow up to be wild Indians.

To the governor of South Carolina trying to both claim nothing happened under his watch while begging for the famous remains back. The Seminoles tried for a century to have their Chief returned but US stiffed em as usual.
I here by challenge him to a duel on the second Tuesday of next week with bow and arrows at 5.000 paces.' Shiver
