Thread File for exhaust flanges

Hi

I am building a Rickman Commando for a friend to ride this season. I have a 2 into 1 NRP system, that the previous owner has mangled (squashed) the first couple of threads of the bronze exhaust nuts. Has anyone used a thread file on a thread this size?
ps can you remind me of the thread size.?

Hi Chris

I have used a tread file on the inside of my exhaust flange to clean them out, I have a full set of thread files of diffrent sizes, if I remember the one I use on my flange is BSF file, my files have 8 thread sizes on each file and at the ends has 4 thread gauge threat sizes at each ends of the file that can be run around the inside flange just pick the right thread size for the thread, has saved my flange a few times now...
