The Very First Triton

surprising lack of cornering clearance, it seems....
Maybe not
With a rigid rear end and girders there's not much bottoming out
My rigid thunderbird had 3" clearance from road surface to the underside of sidecar lug
If memory serves me correctly

I only ever owned a Triton because I could not afford a Manx. It is very easy to build a motorcycle which will scare you shitless. Somehing such as that bike in the photo looks harmless, but it could probably still get up to 100 MPH. If you go beack to pre WW2 motorcycles, you need to be aware of their history. I am accustomed to relatively high speeds and I would not ride one. In the old dasys, the guys alsp wore pudding basin helmets. In Australia, some of the car guys like 1930s racing cars, which can fall over when they are going in a straight line. It is arrogance when you believe you must be smater than peoople in the olden days. They were just as smart, and more of them got killed. It virtually does not happen these days, and the speeds are much higher.
