Hi all,
I dont need to asked any questions as my bike is running a treat.
Ive just come back from a ride out today & it was bloody cold at 3c.
I went out on my Suzuki first but decided I would rather be out on the Commando so I came home to get that instead.
Has anyone else in the UK been out on this clear but cold day, or riders from anywhere in the world really, if its been nice where you are.
I wish I was back on holiday in Port Douglas in Aus as its nice & warm there, but when it rains, Wow it rains heavy.
Cheers Don.

Yes, I took the Commando for a blast today. Relatively warm down here, a steaming 5 deg. Put my fleece on under my NEW leather jacket. (Bloody thing is full of armour, Missus made me buy it). Wasn't too bad, but the front wheel gave out a bit on a bit of gravel on one corner. Tried out my new aftermarket winkers, & one packed up. New Commando mirrors, Ok if you put your arm down (well, they are not very good really).
Anyway, did about 15 miles & quite enjoyable.

I thought I would have some time off the Commando rebuild today and take the Ducati up the coast and back through Glen Coe. A bit nippy coming over Rannoch Moor with the snow right down to the road edge. Splendid run though!

Well I got up this morning and saw your post Don, I said to myself, Self go get the bike out and take her for a ride. It was the temp. that you posted that had me thinking it's nice here compared to your place. It's about 60 degrees here, Maybe a little cooler along the coast. This seems to be a great idea to have a thread that people can leave pictures of where they rode that day. Maybe not old rides but rides from that day so we can see what kind of weather people are riding in that day. This is a picture of the Huntington Beach pier about 10 miles from where I live and Catalina Island in the background. Thanks for the Great idea for this thread Don.

Hey Horton,
I have never seen a full pic of your bike. The avatar doesn't do it justice. It has a great vintage and mean look. What kind of muffler are you running there?

Your right,
it does look a bit warmer in LA but not boiling hot.
I was well wrapped up against the cold, but I did feel the back wheel give way a couple of times.
Strangely enough a friend of ours phoned us today from up near Falsom in California for a chat.
Their bike is in the workshop so no riding for them today although its a bit colder than your area.
I hope you enjoyed your ride anyway.
Last time I was in LA we stayed with friends in Sylmar just off the 210 at Hubbard.
Cheers Don

Horton.........

I watched your build thread last year. Wow. What a great outcome. Fantastic bike.

50 degrees in nashville. Went out twice today!

55* in Boston today. You Southerners are gonna have to start wintering in New England. I think we got less snow than you did this year!

WEIRD!

I like this shot of your bike also Horton. The black rims look great and the finish on the aluminum is nice, kind of muted and goes well with the theme.

It's been nice enough to ride here for the last while too but I'm way far from having a bike on the road here. I'm probably going to just get one running so I have a rider and then take my time with the other one and do it right.

Hello guys, Rvich it's an aftermarket can from a GSXR that a guy married to a Bub header pipe for me, Took a bit of time to get the jetting right as I had a Megacycle cam and some other work done to the motor. But once I was through with going through the plug chops I think I have it real close. It has great pull to about 90+ mph, I just don't have the balls yet to take it higher. We have a lot of traffic here and the tickets cost an arm and a leg if you get caught. But I really like Don's idea, Send your pictures of where you guys ride, I love the idea that some of you guys just need sunny weather to ride, I am such a puss that I think it needs to be warm. But today it was nice and crisp and was fun. Please send a picture of your favorite place to ride, I almost feel I am there. Ride safe guys, Chuck.

I'm just a little south of Seattle, USA
I'm continuing to sort out things on the bike and took it out this afternoon for about an hour. Temp around 45 degrees F.
I find when my hands get cold stopping and putting them (with gloves) on the barrel helps.
I've ridden short ones every couple of weeks all winter, probably upper thirties the coldest.
Spring will be fantastic here in another month or so.

Well, I went on Saturday here in sunny Northern California. I had to respond as I was born in Leeds many years ago now. I have to admit to being a Wuss. My cut off temperature is 60 F. Saturday was close to, if not, 70 F. I was in a T shirt only and some pants of course. New years day I rode in shorts and a T shirt so eat your hearts out.

First ride since New Years Day and managed 60miles but it took me 3hrs to warm up after! Was dead keen to see how my new PW3 cam ran. Impressed that the bottom end was pretty good but think it needs richening up a bit. Still on std cam settings so it could be worthwhile finding a Dyno locally to set it up properly. BTW Flo, I lived in Taunton 65-70, some nice riding around there but in those days it was leg power!!
