I messed up my timing cover/cam oil seal and had oil in the points cover. AMR recommends a thick timing cover gasket. I had an orange rubbery type fitted. ( possibly Cometic?) But I cant remember where i bought it. It is about .030-.031

Thanks

Make your own just buy the gasket material the thickness you need from a good auto parts supplier if you don't want to wait, I quite enjoy making my own gaskets, my last two Norton rebuilds the timing cover gaskets in the gasket kits didn't fit right and would have failed if used. I have Jim's silicone valve gaskets and they are great, but still have to wait for postage from OS.

We don't get winter lay ups here, our winters are great riding weather and not cooking our brains out, Jim is good to deal with and you are in the same country which helps.

Next time, I know better. I had put a thin coat of sealer. Came off in one piece but the sealer had adhered to the edges of the gasket.
