Should there be a rubber gasket between.....

Hi All, and Happy New Year: I'm in the process of converting lights to LED and will post some of my ideas shortly. In the meantime...... The rear turn signals have a black rubber gasket between the lens and the chromed plastic housing. The front flashers don't have that same gasket. Should they? I checked the parts manual and the closest thing I find is something called the "Interior Assembly" (573832). Are the rubber gaskets available separately or do I have to buy an entire assembly just to get the gasket--if I need it.
 
The same gaskets and plastic lens are fitted to many Brit cars and vans especially Land Rover the last time I bought them they were half the price of any classic bike parts supplier.

Walridge has them at two dollars and something each--and that's Canadian $, which essentially means that they are free for Americans. Can't do better than that.
