for some reason i would like to fit scrolled rocker spindles to my head ( no not mine , the bike's ), fed by the oil return line (towards the oiltank )
in doing so i could use an early dominator timing cover for my commando-engined dominator
these timing covers (domi) have no provision for a pressure-fed head oiling system . But also their pressure relief valve is rather crude , it sits inside the cover and consists of a rather small spring behind a small plunger.
as i am using a 6start oilpump(commando) the pressure generated by the pump and the resistance to feed a std commando head(plain spindles) might be too high and keep this relief valve(domi) open and thus starving the head of oil
that is why i would like to use scrolled (domi)rocker spindles as these do not require any pressure to oil the rockers
question1 any one any experience that a 6start would nor OVERoil the rockers ? Could be remedied by calibrating the hole
question 2 at what pressure does the commando relief valve open and how could i test it , also when does it shut off
any thoughts ?
