Greetings,
Presently own a 2006 Royal Enfield Bullet Electra, its alot of fun, but somewhat under powered to say the least. However, I have just put a deposit on a new 535 Continental which promises to deliver a few more ponies. Any Continental owners out there care to comment on your experiences with the Continental model so far, I would very much like to hear from you.

thank you,
George

I don't know about the ponies, however I love that bike for what it is. It looks so right in so many ways. I would have loved to have had one in the 60s. Pity it is not a 500. I don't think many people these days really appreciate what a café racer was in the 50s. The top bike anywhere was the manx Norton, there was never any hope of getting a Gilera or an MV. You couldn't buy just the engine for a manx, so guys like myself who were infatuated with road race heros used to try to get the bike when there was motor in it. The cheapest motor with similar horsepower to the manx was the 650cc Triumph and that is how the Triton came about. The problem was that the bike lacked something compared with the manx. It certainly wasn't a 500 - the capacity for the senior class in road racing, so in our minds we knew the Triton was a cheater. This new Enfield goes closer to what we were trying to achieve, and these days it doesn't matter if it is slower. If you think you are going to do the stupid stuff we did back then, you are kidding yourself.
