I just got word that Ross Thompson passed away this morning. Ross was an extremely gifted metal worker here in the Southwestern Ontario Region of Canada. His talents in repairing motorcycle body work were second to none, and there are many gas tanks that have been given a whole new lease on life due to his work and dedication. Ross was a pleasure to know, and he was always there to help who he could and lend an encouraging word when ever you needed it. RIP, my friend

Very sad news , another one gone
Condolences to his family rip

Sad News. He was a great guy and an active member in both the CVMG, ONO and INOA. We had many campfires chats at those Rally nights.
He will be missed. R.I.P.

He did a Series 2 USA RE Interceptor tank for me. Told me he wasn't doing any more so I got one of his last efforts. I have never put petrol in it and it is a work of art. After I sell off all my bikes I will keep that tank to look at!
RIP, great craftsman .

It might be an example of the law of diminishing returns. You usually get wished 'many happy returns' on your birthday. I am 79, so my returns are diminishing - but my grandkids still love me.

Didn't know Ross, but clearly a talented nice fellow based on what all of you have said. Godspeed.

Very sorry to hear this, it’s for sure a loss to the old bike fraternity. Ross and his painter friend Mike Papoff made me a beautiful ComDom tank from a really tough old Atlas shell. They were/ are truly nice guys and a real pleasure to deal with.

My condolences to his family and friends.

Martin
