This year's Riding Into History is next weekend. Anybody who is in north Florida or southern Georgia should try to make it.

This event has been going on for close to 20 years, and benefits various veteran-focused charities. This year's charity is K9s for Warriors.

About 400 bikes, set around a small lake at the Golfing Hall of Fame in the World Golf Village, just north of St. Augustine. Entry is by application or invitation.

Riding Into History was nice. My class was 1964-1973 English, so there were over 20 bikes, from a BSA B25 to a pair of Triumph Hurricanes. Judges asked if I was OK with only one bike being judged to avoid dominating the class! They handed out 4 awards of merit and a best in class. The winner was a 1968 Bonneville TQ (trailer queen), my Ranger, a '64 Atlas, an original B25 and one of the Hurricanes got awards of merit. Only two Nortons in the class, and they both placed.

Over 400 bikes were there, with the emphasis this year on Japanese. Barber Museum came down with a half dozen bikes, and Dave Despain was the Grand Marshal.

Next year the emphasis is English bikes, and I was asked to bring both back. Might bring the Commando, too. Maybe they'll split out the Trumpys if there are enough entries

Also got a potential lead on a Mk2 Atlas and a '49 G80...

I could only stay a while, but it was well worth driving across the state to see.

I might bring my 1953 ES2 for next year.
