I‘ve also used FD motorcycles before, they did a stunning job on my T160 tank some years ago, but pissed me off when I discovered the tank had LOADS of blast media inside. Particularly irksome as I had specially asked them to NOT blast the tank. But as I said, the quality of the finished tank was fabulous.
When i read FD motorcycles i though i know an FD in Gt Dunmow as they bored my barrel, then i remembered they do painting!!
I'm traveling to Braintree tomorrow on business so will be on the A120 past Dunmow
Yes FD did my candy red roadster recently, great job and reasonable price compared to a few other quotes. I was quite picky about near the tank edge the stripes went (they varied a bit as standard), but no issues accommodating me.
He had to redo my blue /silver bonneville tank about 10 years ago as there were dust particles in the clear coat first time, but sorted and looks great still.
Only issue for me is lining is all masked and sprayed. Less of an issue on the commando in silver but v noticeable on the Triumph compared to my hand gold lined tanks.
