Huge loss. Great drummer. Great band. Very sad.
I saw them in Dublin in 2018, they were just amazing. And then when you thought about their age, they were even more amazinger !!

great anecdote on BBC Radio London today: Charlie to Mick: your face is really lined. Mick: they’re laughter lines. Charlie: nothing’s that funny....!

Can remember seeing them on the box in the mid '60s (TOTP or RSG, can't remember which but neither were missed with three older sisters in the house!)
What I do remember, though, was a close up of CW hammering his way round his kit, then leering into the camera as he wiped his nose on the sleeve of his jacket...
Ringo would never have done that.
Was driven by the music, it seems, rather than the lifestyle, so top bloke....

Keith Richards' book is an eye opener, and not just because he does actually remember most of it!

They are our favorite band of all, have seen them 23 times over the years. Some tours we saw them twice and still didn't get no Satisfaction. What you said Rob reminded me of what my wife would say, "He always seems so happy" after that I noticed every time they showed him on the big screen he had a smile. He was her favorite Stone. R.I.P. Charlie.
