Its of limited interest I'd imagine as its far too loud for most folk these days, including racers!

Do you have a system to sell?

I might be interested even its its just to Dyno it and see what its like...

I can buy one asking 250 gbp used

If its what you want, and its not too badly dented or otherwise damaged, buy it!

You'd pay more than that to have something fabricated up. But this (presumably) has the originality to it.

The TX750 in your photo has a separate pipe system, and as far as I know that was what was fitted to the handful produced, no options.

The TX was not a 'production racer', a real Production Racer (Norvil Commando) by definition had seperate pipes with peashooters.

Norton factory F750s also used separate pipes.

Many racers using Seeley frames and ridden by UK national and club racers were fitted with 2 into 1s of varying designs and quality, and some may have been ridden in F750, most weren't.

So what have you really been offered? a 40 year old 2 into 1 race system built for a Commando? or a Seeley? Unless it is pristine and you want to hang it on your wall, it probably has no real value at all.

If you are building a race bike it is definitely of no value today and you would be better off getting the likes of NRP to fabricate something that will meet noise regs, at most the down pipes might be usable if not corroded.

If it is for a road bike, same problem.

This "production racer" 2 into 1 exhaust is probably an F750 exhaust.

I have one of those NOS. It's crudely fabricated and there is no noise damping.

I see what you mean, but I still would agree with the term production being applied, and I don't think they made many of those either.

Gus Kuhn raced and sold Seeley Commandos, and yes of course they used similar exhausts, though not exclusively, and I am sure they were all pretty crude, and unlikely to be to the standards most of us are looking for today.

If you were building a dedicated replica and this exhaust system was genuine, it would be worth having. Otherwise the performance characteristics and noise levels probably would not suit any current form of road racing. I'm not a purist, however whenever I attend an historic bike festival, I love to see old racing bikes which are correct in every detail. That is mainly because I like to imagine what the guys who used to race them had to tolerate. It really shits me when I see Manx Nortons fitted with mufflers because of some silly noise regulation - there should be exemptions for festivals such as the Goodwood Revival. The next thing that will happen is they will be fitting silencers to Spitfires and Lancaster bombers.

There are...

The reason that Goodwood is only used a couple of times a year is because this was how they avoided being closed down by noise...before the Revival it had the strictest noise regs anywhere.

Donington Festival in August is unsilenced.....some of the parade bikes, like Honda 6 replicas...challenge your hearing to pain levels....

There are few out there that have the F750 exhaust, rarish, but no real interest in them means that they are mostly hung on the walls decorating the man cave.

Goodwood had no noise regulations until sometime in the 90's when the locals complained, and they were restricted to so many unlimited days per year, tis why the Solent NOC branch moved on and stopped using it for a track day, as the days where then required by the Lord himself.

This is the only F750 "production" exhaust I have seen. Is this the one folks are referring to here? This is from the Norton "750 Racer and 750 Formula Racer Conversion Kits" catalog, Technical Release N3/12.

Always a problem when something that works well is too loud. - One of the reasons I prefer track days where there is no sound level measuring. I've thought of fitting a form of exup into my 2 into 1 exhaust - operated by cable from the twist grip.
