howdy folks, does anyone know if a 73 850 has the mkII carbs (not mkI) I was planning on replacing the needles and needle jets. All the info i have seen has 1969 and later having a recessed pressed in pilot jet? Are these replaceable? I am trying to figure out how to approach this and make sure i order the right parts. thanks much and happy riding! jerome

Jerome,

As Mk1's were std there will not be a reference tp Mk11's however the needle jet, and main are the same items between 1's & 2's. The pilot jet is a fixed bush on 1's and a replaceable thread in on 2's. But the only jet that wears out is the needle/needle jet assembly.

REPLACING PILOT JET

I want to replace this pressed in pilot jet, I think mine is either not installed correctly or the jet is oversize or deformed from new.
Anyone ever replaced this jet?
