P11 rear brake rod

Good morning all,

Just looking at some corrections for my P11 restoration and I noticed that my P11 has a rear brake cable rather than a rod. This would seem to be a previous owners 'fix' and I am planning to replace with a brake rod. However, before doing so, I wanted to check if anyone was aware of this being done on the P11s?

One good thing on a brake cable over the rod is that the brake pressure stays the same with a cable no matter where the suspension goes…….

I have never seen one with a cable and all parts manuals call for a rod.

How is the outer housing supported?

Hi, more accurate to say wire. No outer cable.

Bike currently not accessible but will see if I can find a shot or two of old setup. Bike had a lot of things messed with when i got it. Unfortunately, as my first P11 it has been a bit of a guessing game as to what was an original piece and what was not. Rod issue only discovered recently when reading through parts list looking for something else.
