I am finding the front cable is needing more adjustment as I add miles to this Matchless fork and brake system.
I read the manual and find reference to a "shim under thrust pad" type spacers and, since I haven't had this apart in about a year, anyone have experience with this?
I am not finding these "shims" (number 2 packing washer) discussed, listed, part numbers, thicknesses, etc...............and they apply to front and rear on a P11 , as the brake shoes are same frt/rear.

from the =M=_Workshop_Instruction_Manual_all_models_1957-1964, page 67:

To restore the leverage without relining the brakes, packing washers 000174 are used under the heat treated thrust studs.
The washers used must be uniform in thickness, to ensure both brake shoes make contact with the drum simultaneously.

00-0174 washer is 5/16"x7/8"x1/16"

hope this helps.

pulled front wheel off to check brakes and add washers to shoes as discussed above.
the 013291 thrust adjusters are not the same size as photo above, they measure at 22.56mm diameter, just a little larger than 7/8" .
so the ebay 013291 are not correct description, as is typical with parts for sale on Ebay.
the pin is 5/16 and both brake shoe adjusting thrust pins came out easily as they had been assembled with grease.
brake shoes looked great with a pattern of very full contact, and they had been working excellent.

Useful tool to allow easy brake work on a P11 front brake assembly.
These locking snap ring pliers allow you to spread the shoes and lock them at a suitable distance to allow brake cam removal or install.

Those round shims are a new one on me, but I have been making my own shims for donkey’s years for drum brakes, I used to be able to buy them at one time-but this is going back to the 1970s…………
