Does anybody know how you remove and replace the center bolt from the Atlas automatic advance unit? My dished washer ( with the two small holes ) needs replacement. Thanks

The center bolt has two sets of threads. One right handed to attach the AAU to the Magneto input shaft and a set of LEFT HANDED threads to allow for the bolt to be unscrewed from the AAU, (please see photo below):

If you cannot unscrew the bolt from the AAU, it probably means the left handed threads have been abused. Then it becomes a bit more interesting!

Thanks I assume the internal threads are the right handlers and the exterior the left. What’s involved when things get interesting because I think things have begun to get interesting😜

Truth be told, if the left handed threads are damaged, I do not know what the best way forward is. I think the rivets may have to be removed from the AAU. Such is above my pay grade, so when I needed to remove the bolt from my AAU, but could not, I purchased a second hand replacement AAU. Maybe someone smarter than me has a solution?

If you cannot find a good used one I think Norvil sells them rebuilt. You may have to provide them with yours as a core.
