Too bad it's through a parking lot.

“The Thundersprint trophy has pride of place in our office and in the coming years, I can guarantee that it will be joined by many others.”
But at the heart of the Thundersprint, spiritually and physically, is a 447 yard long sprint - complete with racing tarmac - laid out inside the town’s main car park.

New Norton wins it's first race!!!

There wasn’t a dry eye in the Norton team as the factory’s UK Sales Manager Chris Walker thrashed a top quality entry to win this year’s Thundersprint – and on a brand new Norton 961.

They were crying over this? Really... over here we call that an autocross and I don't think I've ever seen a bike autocross. At least they could have made it interesting, race to one end of the parking lot, pick up a sixer of Guinness and race back.

That stupid motorcycle and hay bales obstruct the view... :(

So, I can be all smug from way over here, but what is the event really like? Their site doesn't really do it justice.

The Thundersprint is one of the biggest events in Europe

I mean, who wrote this? The same guy who wrote the Norton PR? Is winning the Thundersprint really as awesome as winning the Isle of Man? because that's what they make it out to be... :?

If you're trying to check out her knees...

Well, I AM thrilled!

So what if it is not a Senior TT win?

It is good news any way you cut it for the new Norton effort.

Great publicity, I wish Norton nothing but the best!

And my computer desktop now has a terrific photo of that beautiful black Norton smoking the rear tire!

I get asked this almost every time I post race results:

"How many other bikes were in the race?"
