Muffler brackets for interstate

I have a 73 750 Roadster that I am trying to mount interstate mufflers on.
I have the interstate pipes and Campbell mufflers.
I ordered the brackets to hang them and received the type similar to the ones Concours has shown in the MUFFLER MOUNT thread.
I end up with the muffler being about 2 inches short of being home.
In the Service Manual I have,(fig F16) it shows the Triangle piece rotated 90 degrees out. the closer holes attach to the muffler. My diamond shaped piece has more holes in it.
When I look in the Parts Manual It shows a different piece (group 20), plate number 25, part number 063132.
My question is, Has anyone had this situation with these parts interchanging and what would it take to get things lined up as far as ordering parts again. I would like to avoid cutting the pipe off to get them mounted as the muffler would start right in the bend.

I must say they could have been drawn more clearly back then, the important bits are somewhat obscured.
The 1972 bits appear to be different to those for 1973 too, which may be a complication.
You may have to be able to photo what you have, for us to detect what is not quite right. ?

The only difference between '72 and '73 parts lists for Interstate and Interpol mounting brackets, appears to be the 063579 RH muffler mounting bracket introduced during '72, (however, the quantity for 063132, now LH only, is still listed as "2" for '73 :roll: ).

These should be the Interstate brackets (according to the parts lists).
063579 (RH)


063132 (LH & early '72 RH)


063131 (LH & RH inner bracket)

So one of these should go on the rhs of all Interstate muffler setups ?

According to Service Release N.81 (March 1972)-yes:

NATURE OF RELEASE: Kickstart foul on right exhaust pipe.
MODELS AFFECTED: 1972 Commando, Interstate and Interpol models only.
PARTS AFFECTED: 063132 Muffler bracket (triangular).
DISTRIBUTION: Distributors only.
EXPLANATION: An alteration has been introduced onto the muffler bracket to provide adequate kickstart pedal operating clearance.
The new bracket, which should only be fitted to the right hand side pipe is supplied under part number 063579.
