Moto Corsa Museo Ducati

Du ca ti.

Amazing what was coming out of the UK and Italy from 1971 to 1976 motorcycle wise.
Of course these days over 80 RWHP at over 8000 rpm is no problem from a 'Beveldrive with total reliability.

'Reliability' ? Great bikes , but too much like Ferraris. A friend of mine ran a Ducati service centre until recently. He told me it was unsual for ca customer 's bill to be less than $5000. He said most of the problems came from people trying to fix their own bikes. He used t o pull the motors down in front of them so they wouldn't kick about the size of the bill. I visited the Ducati factory in Bologna in 2007 a looked at t he old racing bikes. I don't think that video was taken there .

No, the video was shot at Moto Corsa here in Portland. It's the largest Ducati dealer in the US (according to them). They had a nice little vintage bike show for the last month.

Ducati repairs are not for the faint of heart or light of wallet.

I like Morgan Aeros with the 880 JAP engine, but they are still not motorcycles. In the olden days meeting organisers couldn't figure out whether to run them car or bike races. My feeling is that sidecars should run at car meetings, not motorcycle meetings. They are not motorcycles, the technology and driving skills techniques are totally different . The other thing I don't like about them is that if I am racing my Seeley, and I deck myself, I've only done it to myself - I'm not responsible for destroying someone else. My brother lent his 600cc Jawa speedway outfit to a guy the other day. He has just straightened out all the bends in the frame. The rider got a broken scapula, the co-pilot got a broken pelvis.

Its been said here in NZ that a motortcycle race weekend without sidecars is only 3/4 of an event. Whilst not keen to ride one myself they are fun to watch and the crews are usually a sandwich short of picnic......
There are some Aussies coming over to for Paeora Street circuit later in the month just to ride a sidecar on a road circuit.... I've offered to be pit bitch as its a Beemer.

I watched Orrie Salter race the BMW Rennsport 500 sidecar at Phillip Island in the early 60s, he beat the fast Vincent 1000s. The bike was supposed to be returned to the factory, however it stayed here . It was sold to a guy in queensland after Stan Bayliss died. It is being converted into a solo by him. I'm not keen on sidecars, but the idiot obviously doesn't know what he has got his hands on. I get really exasperated when this sort of thing happens . The BMW rennsport was the real deal in international sidecar racing, and were completely unobtainium for the average guy. When you turn one into a solo,it is like turning a works Honda into a paddock bike . If I ever got my hands on a Rennsport, I would certainly race it, but normally I couldn't give a shit about road race sidecars or any other sort of car for that matter.

Sidecar racing suits chicken-shit neaderthals. The guys who drive sidecars are kids who have never progressed beyond the trainer wheels stage with two wheeler bikes.

You obviously have issued that could only be resolved with professional therapy.

Or less involvement with the organisers of our historic racing, who are mainly sidecar guys and don't know where their asses are. Some of them are simply bloody pathetic.

There were a few sidecars here for the Barry Sheen memorial, quite a large contingent of bike from Oz,Robbie Phillis and lots of others.
There was a Zundapp sidecar outfit that a German couple had made for them at the factory around 1960 and brought out with them, its new owner says its much the same as then,
