Or crazy? or both?

I bough three years ago this stock Interceptor II, had an accident right after (other bike) and tried to ride the Emfield again this year...Stock brake was not operable for me as I need a two fingers lever so I went for a Commando disc fork and as my right leg is still weak, I installed a TriSpark.
Maybe I am getting old?

I am still not "comfy" riding the bike and frankly, having a Commando (MK2 with Alton ES & Brembo), the Enfield is not at all in the same league! The Interceptor has the most "macho" engine look of the British bikes but in terms of performance, ease of use etc. I rather be on the Commando!!

So I am selling it to a "wanker" who calls fork tubes (stanchions) "the silver tubes in the front" and want it completely stock (I am guessing for shows?!). So I am now putting back the stock front... I can't stand this glorification of stock for the pleasure of stock! What about being able to stop??? "we" were trying to makethese bikes stop before it was "fashionable" to ride and pose with them!!

Anyhow my wife showed some interest for the only Beemer I ever liked so I am looking at this now: (comes with the small tank and large seat too....14000 miles):

It should be mainly for my wife, but I am sure she won't stop me riding it and dreaming of transcontinental adventures with it!!!

Yes....the " that's not original brigade"....... I restored a couple of bikes in the early 90's at T110 and an R75/5......these days I prefer usable over original.
I'm into air cooled VW's too and split screen VW Kombi's go for eye watering money here ( NZ) but almost none of them run the original motor or transaxle as in stock form they are not nice to drive on 2012 roads....but when a classic bike comes up for sale the first question is nearly always " does it have matching numbers"......

Interceptor makes a Commando seem as reliable as a Honda.
If you think the gearbox on your Norton lets the side down,
delve into the RE box. You will be delving into it trust me.
The original thing is just a set of rules just as what a cafe or
a chopper is. It is good to see one and ride one to understand just
what POS most brit bikes were out of the box. If you didnt mod it
you usually had problems.
Now I go for mostly stock looking with whatever internal mods
work.

NO, people buy classic motorbikes so they have a conversation piece to take to boot sales and bore other mindless types , :? . the boreesques ?

Looked at the nasty BM parrallel 800 twin ? saw a W650 with usual Jap cardboard engine mounts , tho the injuns compact . Then theres ER 650s ,tenare /
TRX tediums , and 1200 thewper tenares if you can stand a machine twice as big as it needs to be for that sized engine ,

Actually , if you dont think itll break , try thrashing it , it may remove the pea from under the matress . :)

No, not too old, at least you are giving it a go, you are correct - effective brakes are a must in the real world..& some people, well, at least one person eh, Matt, go droning on & on in monotony, as if there is a pea rattling around in their cranium like a referees whistle, & only wish they had a bike...
