About 4 years ago I took up yoga as a way of clearing my mind and maintaining flexibility. It has permeated my daily exercise routine (in a good way).
My mantra (or goal) is to maintain functionality.
I find it helpful, particularly in dealing with the loss of my wife to cancer - nearly nine years now.

Some of the yoga related music I find helps block out the world during my daily exercises and thought some here might find helpful:

Cheers

When my wife died in 2012 due to cancer, I was left with a lot of time on my hands. For six years I had been her sole caregiver while running my two businesses. I was looking for something to fill my time other than rage so really turned up the heat on my businesses. I am down to one IT customer now (drama reduction) and focus my remaining energy on motorcycles and trying to keep my body working (slowly losing that battle).

Today, I generally cannot sleep and have YouTube sleep music on while I try to sleep - not that soothing - mind still racing.

Just listening to this almost put me to sleep! I will try it tonight! Thanks!

One of the keys to good sleep is proper light exposure. Early morning sunlight is very important. If you can watch the sun rise, it sets up your hormonal rhthym for the day. Also, avoid blue light in the evening. All screens, LED and fluorescent lights, not only have too much blue light, but are also lacking in the remaining natural spectrum. Only use incandescent lighting when possible, especially in the evening and no screens for the last hour or two before sleep help. Taking magnesium supplements is a sleep aid and most people are deficient, rather than calcium which is always promoted. Without adequate magnesium, the calcium (which the vast majority get plenty of) isn't absorbed.

+1 on the magnesium

There are a couple of relaxing songs on this album. ‘Bass Strings’ may bring back memories to some of us.
