Is my 1970 Fiber glass tank useable??

Today I found out where I get my leaded 110 racing fuel now carries alcohol-free (no ethanol) gasoline called Rec-90. Sell for about 25 cents more a gallon than regular unleaded (15% ethanol). It's used for lawnmowers, cycles, etc where ethanol poses a problem. Sort of glad I have this near me as I planned on using a NOS fiberglass Fastback tank for my upcoming restoration. However, I will still line the tank. This will eliminate using aviation fuel. Hope this non-alcohol fuel catches on elsewhere.

I heard about new steel tanks coming from England (then not Pakistan or Indian) which should be even better (!) than the originals..
.. anyone had any experience with them?
.. and furthermore where to buy them?

I heard Shell V-Power gas is ethanol free and then it should be ok for our fiberglass tanks.
Anyone knows if this is true?

Check out this thread ugh-new-gas-sucks-t8903.html?hilit=ethanol (page 4) but to be sure, it would be best for you to write to each company and see what they say.

Yup, I've emailed Shell myself, got a response first thing the next day, their V-Power premium gas has no ethanol. The other grades do however. So, lower grade gas left in the pump from previous customers may end up in your tank, just a little bit, but enough to do harm. Some stations have pumps that only give V-Power premium so that's what would be the best to use, or fill up after a car that has just used V-power

today I filled the tank with VPower at a shell gas station and the pump clearly stated that the gas was with 'no ethanol'
.. again.. anyone had an experience with tanks coming from England?

I guess all those people that had Pintos and didn't get smacked in the rear end and burned to death it was a fine car. Didn't GM have one like that too? You pays your money....

Yup, had a 1977 Pinto Cruising Wagon. Orderded from factory less graphics. Had it for one year and traded it in. Nice car.
