Ignition Coil Failure

Hey guys,

Any ideas on what would cause this fairly new ignition coil to stop working?

Riding down the highway last week, bike running great, 70 mph, lost spark.

Tested it today and it's this ignition coil. Replaced it and I'm getting spark again. Boyer tested at 135 ohms, battery fully charged.

Any suggestions will be appreciated. I would like to make sure it's not something in my wiring and avoid ruining another. Thanks -

I'm currently running a Wassel three phase stator. When rev'ing the engine I am getting output anywhere from 14.25 - 15.50 as i increase the revs. I currently have a Shorai battery and am running a three phase system (rotor, 3 phase rectifier, etc.).

Is there a possibility that the charge from the three phase system caused the electric ignition to burn out?

After a long ride the 14AH Shorai battery will read 14.50. If it's set on a trickle charge overnight it will read 13.50.

Again, any perspective will be appreciated.

14.5 is not too high. Who made the coil? (or sold it)

Sometimes electrical parts just ... "go bad" ... some after 30 years, and some after 30 days. :shock:
