I wonder why no knee pads on an Interstate

With Roadsters having indentations and Triumphs having pads, you'd think that they would have done something for Interstates. My tank always looks rubbed where my knees are. Any thoughts or ideas?
 
Always had the same problem. How some riders keep their tanks free of scratches is beyond me. Mine has any number of scratches due to the fact that us shorties have to sit on the tank anyway, just to reach the bars and despite my rear sets the leathers and club jacket with it's doodads and buckles are sadly doing the 'wear spot' thing to a relatively new paint job. And if you have to use the knees to help keep you on the machine in the rush of bloody horsepower...

Just look at the wear marks as proof you ride the thing and don't garage it in the living room... :lol:
 
I've seen little sheepskin "skirts" on Interstate tanks. :roll:

No it wasn't on my bike....

Was it that bloke from New Zealand? :shock: Apparently they like to put little sheepskin skirts on everything. :lol:
 
Boy when it gets down to Tazzies ranking Kiwis over Sheep....and the Conchords are serious business, if you insult them the New Zealand consulate will be after you. They may be New Zealand's biggest current industry.

It seems like you could attach a pad easily enough, I'd worry about the paint though.
 
Good idea, folks were using that on the fonrt of BMW roadsters to cut the chips.
 
Try TechSpec USA, They make custom knee rubbers for mostly modern bikes, But if you send them a pattern they will make anything you want. I have used them many times on verious projects new and old.
