Finally bit the bullet to make life easier for those people in my life - spent half the price of a good Commando for these ..

Hearing aids - now when I scratch my scalp it sounds like sandpaper- turn my head a certain direction outside and it sounds like a hurricane. Daughter’s dog walks across the floor and it’s fingernails on a chalkboard. They tell me my brain will relearn and these things will be minimized. We’ll see…
the $ would have paid for what I need to finish the Dommie AND a pro paint job… but it’s not all about me is it ?

I don't need hearing aids - everyone just needs to speak up!

RT, the fart thing was all in jest. I couldn't help myself to crack a joke. You have about 8/10yrs or so on me. I've had this tinnitus shit for years. Constant ringing in your ears 24/7. In grade school I always remember getting an annual hearing test, you know raise your left or right hand when you hear something. I was always good. When I was 9 or 10 I used to go to Atco Dragway and watch the Nitro Funny Cars. Standing at the starting line, I could actually feel my brain shake in my scull. Then in my teen years, first concert @ 16 was Thin Lizzy and Queen. By 19 standing in front of a wall of amps for Johnny Winter. Many more concerts to follow. Riding started at 19, just the wind on your ears F'd you up, not the engine noise. Once I rode 90 miles on the Florida Turnpike @ 105mph. I couldn't hear for 3 days. On the Harley with 2 1/4" open pipes. Not the pipes, but the wind. So 1st hearing test since grade school about 7 years ago. The dude says you're losing your hearing, that's why I have tinnitus. If it gets any worse give me a call. We'll set you up with hearing aids. So today, when at a concert or just on a ride, I use wax earplugs. They do the trick, but I'm following you right behind.:)

Yes, been wearing ear plugs while riding for 10 years. The wind noise was very annoying. Now, with hearing aids
due to years of damaging auditory life style, I can hear sounds I can’t ever remember hearing. The worst, is sitting
next to a blowhard on a pub stool and his booming projected blathering just about blowing me over. Now I can
open a smartphone app and turn my hearing aids off.

I have an app for mine as well. I can listen to anything on my phone like youtube or music, even calls! The only thing it wont do because its an android and not I phone is allow the phone mic to play right into the hearing aids. That would be nice for places with lots of back ground noise.

Rock concerts, playing in rock bands, loud exhaust notes from bikes and cars and karts, lots of gunfire on the range and in the field before they provided hearing protection, being around (and detonating) a wide variety of explosives, chainsaws, on and on.
I have been wearing them for years.
They cost a small fortune, the tinnitus never quits and everyone still mumbles!

Honestly in the big scheme of interaction they keep you involved. Without them you miss out on way too much with all kinds of adverse effects, none of them good. Well, mostly none of them.
