Just finished a 180 mile tow & wondering what’s works best for you guys , I’ve used an R & G handlebar strap/sleeve that goes over the grips with loops ,then attach these to hook/loops on trailer with good quality straps , getting the bike secure is what we aim for , but curious to know other people’s thoughts of hints & tips & methods used , and recommend Ratchet straps please ? I’ve borrowed them of a pal .

Trailer is very similar to mine, I use 4 straps and a handlebar strap that links between the 2 handle bar grips and has loops for the 2 front straps. You can get away with three straps but 4 is safer.

I have modified mine, you can see a split just in front of the axle on the floor and then 4 bolts in front, with the axle also being bolted on this allows it to be broken down into 3 main parts and then fitted into a large car boot. I fitted a longer tailgate so no bottoming of the bike when rolling it up plus reduces effort. Extra front wheel steady at front allows single person loading. Also added 3rd dolly wheel so its easier to manoeuvre when empty, you cannot load or offload without it being hitched to a car still.

These tank straps users seem to think that low on the front fork is the place to attach. Takes the load off the suspension.
Looks a little shaky, but tried it once on a Mulitstrada for about 100 miles and it works fine. I just used regular ratchet straps and soft ties, plus a front wheel chock.
