How to clean WD40 off of bare iron brake discs ?

Only clever when I need to be, this interaction is not one of them.

Any insight from your data sheets regarding the use of Naptha? 😏
Some factual input at some point might be in order, other than offhand unfounded criticisms.
I really should not waste my time replying to such a silly comment, but anyway..
Naphtha - not mentioned by me, not available in Europe as a consumer product, of no interest to me.
What "offhand, unfounded criticism" am I accused of? I simply stated that I prefer not to use acetone when IPA does the job. If you care to read the SPS sheets for both products, you will see the reason. Substitution of a less aggressive solvent when possible is a simple, common sense principle.

Of course, if you don't believe the SDS sheets, or if you prefer the smell of acetone to IPA, of whatever, that's your decision. That's what I was trying to convey in my reply which seems to have been misunderstood. I actually agree with most of your reply, other than the first 3 lines (wide availability does not imply a harmless product - tobacco is an obvious example)

Yet you did....at length.
No shortage of snark style sarcasm.
If you want to dump on a participants info offering consider sharing your chemistry expertise with some posted solid facts to back it up rather than ethereal self indulgent lectures.
All done here.

So, no answer to my questions, but more waffle and hand waving?
If you are interested in solid facts, SDS s9 heets are free available with a 10 second Google search, but at no point am I telling you what to do (or dumping on your info - I'm simply stating my preferences. No need to get your whemies in a froth over that.
Yes, acetone is very useful for certain things, and I use it for that. I simply prefer to use a less aggressive solvent when possible.
Why is this so hard to understand?

I’m happy to clean WD40, oil or grease of any brake, with whatever solvent is available.

Petrol/gasoline is usually readily available somewhere around a motorcycle. Safer to use it out in the open air.

Done it many times. No problems.
