I just want to share my joy on Trixie's totally factory '72 front Brake! Its not as powerful as Ms Peel's reseeved modified everything brake, which was actually better than my dual disc SV650 on non DOT race only fat meats, but Trixie is as effective as any bike on the road - short of ABS computerized brakes which are absolutely taboo dangerous on any surface other than good pavement wet or not.
Every biker on modern dual purpose cycles with ABS immediately turn it OFF as some as off good surface and complain bitterly if bike requires resetting each stop and more so if requires menus to scroll through at end new start up. Got it ABS is not the end all of safe effective braking, though wonderful for panic events. Just having a powerful caliper force don't mean a thing beyond how much easier or too touchy to use w/o racer practice, not how hard it can't pull down, as once more pad grip than tire can handle that's all ya got. Every craft has way too powerful brakes on THE Gravel, snow ice grass and mud and oil and sand and hay and fuel spills and smashed animal kill and bug parades...

Anywho I could not ask for more secure predicable effective save your ass right now front brake. Yesterday I really practiced my most feared horror state, braking as hard as can and not crash. Trixie still has original T100 tire on front so not grippiest tire to depend on but way plenty for real life use into thrilling states. Ran her to 80's going down hill and nailed brake so front dives nicely as butt unweighs on seat feeling great till 30's mph then almost lost it with front lock up so had to let off an instant and get back on with rather less grip feathers lighter and light still a full last one foot lock up slide. Two finger normal pull downs is all anyone would ever need unless in panic crisis event then just squeeze a bit more till flesh compresses nicely and beware of lock up till stopped.

hobot's recommended secret ingredient is to completely remove the stupid Norton tiny pin hole restrict-or at end of the big rubber boot in piston end. If ya think I'm dangerously miss leading anyone, I now think the Main Advantage of Every Smaller bore resleeve - is not the increase in hydraulic ratio but that NONE of them have Any restriction like the factory clever drum brake mimicker device. I heat a 6 penny nail red glowing and shove it right through.

I practice lock up's on many of my full stops. On Nina 900 and SV650 I've not problem to stay in seat as they scare me tipping on nose with rear a foot or so up, yuk. My C'do strain me to stay in saddle but do require effort of locked butt on seat to prevent end swapping and to ride a locked front a ways while Keepping it totally inline with rear prefectly upright or SPLAT! If anyone has factory brake complaints they still have something wrong with their set up as I rather stake my life on factoy set up minus reistrictor than about any thing but selectable ABS for both ends. Ms Peel i actually think might out brake the elites going by how extra hard she pulls down, impossible to stay in seat till i let off some. If I'm the one not understanding or crazy I seek no cure and now immune to nay sayers.

Last but not least 24/7 core of my being is the Patton Rump Rod as only thing I think allows Ms Peel to ride a few bikes lengths on locked front trying and trying and trying to get a Combat to stoppie, nope only lifts rear an inch then front tire unicycle. I get a kick out of the bikers parked in our vilage square to come
bezerkly running out and waving arms screaming my front is locked, duh like I didn't know, using all my strength and attention not crash each instant for bike lengths at a time. I don't yet feel very competent braking but by golly I will be next decade or Bust.

OH HELL YEAH MAN Oh MAN, BOY HOWDY HAVE I !!!!
But I don't let my body get pinched between bike and road nor go so slow around on limited hook up traction siding so lazy wide while uslessly counter steering, Shoot at those lean and fork angles its heading the wrong way outward.

NO SIR REE BOB's you'r Uncle, I trip out Peel's rear by power for instant low side exactly conflicted by straight steering a hi side for a water ski pull on wrists as I screw down a spiraling decreaser for a pop up on smashed down rear patch nailing more throttle right out of there on top of the frame sling shot unwrap ZING> straight up out of there>>>

This dude has essentially crashed and barely hanging on to a bouncing broncho and has to about stop to control the high side and wait and wait till his wimpy corner cripple too rigid ringing cycle to settle down before he can throw in last moment of straight steer to get on along. Ms Peel would flashed right past him soon as he tossed down out of harsh acceleration either inside or outside of him depending which way he was locked in to his self induced crash and waited till the point you see him pop up to snatch my apex definitive direction change.

Dude you can not tease me with this level stuff and its counter productive for me to study or laugh at, cool as it is though. To ride like I describe-crave requires a rump rodded C'do, ice spiked speedway racers or MX bikes with big knobbie locked in deep dirt rut on vertical berms.

Here's what I study in depth see if you can see what they are doing and how it still goes wrong on bikes that can't take the frame twist loads and store it but spit it right back soon as it hits, pashaw. Besides they are working their asses off while I'm only having to twist wrist on Peel and just stay centered on seat so all force on me goes straight through normal suspension axis to the rear edge grip.

This is still only beginning stage of phase 3 on Peel, later faster sharper stages of phase 3 on her involve a sides ways wheelie, as she can hook that up on flat tarmac turns, no vertical dirt berm needed. I've been forced onto vertical bluff face horizontal to avoid 3 spikes of hay tractor taking up both ruts, to hit fast on a vertical wall slams suspension to bottom and chest on tank but we made it back down before slamming into rock hunk by extra power to spin rear up over my head to shoot us back to path for a hi side flip in the right direction. Pure nothing to lose freak out bezerk state but Peel took it in stride, Flabber- Gastingly Fabulous!!
