Has anyone heard of the tank manufacturer Fi Glass? They made tanks for racers and Manx bikes back in the 60’s and 70’s.

I don’t have it yet. It’s being shipped from across the pond. When I get it I’ll try to wash the dirt off gently around the decal and see if I can make it out.

I also need to find one of those straps that keeps the tank on the frame.

If anyone knows anything about where I can get a replacement decal or if you have a guess as to what it says, please let me know.

Much appreciated

Norcoastal it says equipe, I have a matching seat. Your catalogue is very nice. They were a very productive company & Edenbridge was/is a little country town.

In 1980 I bought my first Norton, a 500 Domi, which was fitted with on of those Fi-Glass Manx style tanks. Unfortunately it leaked in several places, so I put it on a chair in the garden & a mate & myself took it in turns to shoot at it with a BSA Airsporter air rifle. Whilst that didn't fix the leak it was a lot of fun. I can still remember how heavy it was in comparison to the Unity Equipe tank that replaced it.

That’s great info, thank you! Does anyone by any chance have a picture of the original decal?

That sounds like fun. It’s good to hear that it has some weight to it meaning it was substantial. I’m going to coat the inside before I put any fuel in it.

Have you done your homework on tank sealents for fiberglass tanks?
A mate of mine thought his was working but a tiny amount let go right at the filler cap and fuel got in-between the tank and liner and it was game over
Good luck with it,let us know if successful

I loved those BSA airsporter rifles
My mates dad had one and as kids we used to get it out and fire it when he was at work
I shot at my school bag with it once making a hole through it and my PE gear
My mum thought I'd been smoking or something
I never admitted how it actually happened

I think I would have owned up to the air rifle rather than smoking. It would have been less traumatic for my ear 'oles!
