Hi everybody,

I just bought a 1970 750 engine (nr. near 136.000) which needs new engine cases (broken during a crash 30 years ago).

The engine cases are broken, but all other parts (internals, crankshaft, cylinders, head, gear) are in good conditions.

I have available the empty engine cases of a 1971 750 (nr. near 145.000).

Do you think it is possible to transplant all the internals, cylinders, head and gear from the 1970 engine to the 1971 cases?

Did the cases had relevant changes between 1970 and 1971 engines?

Does the 1970 have the points cavity in the timing case or the tacho drive?

I'd head over to Andover Norton's web site and start identifying major part numbers. Somebody here will have first hand knowledge, but at the end of the day the homework will not have been wasted. They have parts grouped 1968-70, 1970 interim (points cavity moved to the timing case) and 1971.

Sounds like a good find.

Thank you for your reply.
I have to verify better the two cases.
At my first view, they looked identical.

136xxx and 145xxx engine parts (cases, crank, etc) should be interchangeable.
