I have used timed [synchronous] injection for a while but I have gone back to injecting twice per intake event. [once per revolution]
Now I inject outboard of the throttle plates. I have gotten better low and mid rpm performance and better fuel mileage that way.
The injectors are mounted in the air cleaner cover and fire straight down the intake ports.

Do you think that the improvement from that kind of arrangement comes simply because the fuel mixes better with air? This is very interesting stuff.
At first I tried timed injection but dropped that just in case if the timing was not ideal, so decided to study that later. It seems that it's not a game changer in this kind of an engine?

Yes, no question the fuel mixes better, it has more time to evaporate and at low speeds the injection is on to the back of the throttle plate and mixes with the high velocity air at the edge of the plate.
This seems to be the best way to do it when using one throttle body per port [individual runners]


When you have a multi-cylinder engine feeding from one throttle body then injecting at the port makes better sense for equal fuel distribution.
