so the clutch plates are drying in the sun and I've a clutch rod seal (small nut with an o ring) I'm thinking about fitting. I thought about fitting it last time I cleaned the plates but the thing looked like it was sitting on by the skin of its teeth and didn't give much confidence. I've got 2, maybe 3 threads (just) to fit it to but this does seem to relate to the depth of the nut. So - if the nut were to spin off could it foul anything ? It looks like it would be caught on the rod end and spin happily away - interested in others views

The alternative - a daub of heavy grease on the push rod has appeal.

cheers

I recommend you use the clutch rod seal, they are not known to unscrew but use Loctite.

My clutch rod seal has been installed for about 50k miles, still there and working.
