I just received an order for new part #'s 063372 and 063373, clutch and drum brake pivot castings, respectively.
My question arises from the fact that the two castings look identical. I assume there must have been a difference since there were separate part #'s.
Did I receive two of the same part # ??

Any help would be appreciated.

I think it was 1971 when new switch gear was introduced, the left switch had hi/lo beam on the center flipper, horn on the bottom button and high-beam pass on the upper button. The right side had right and left directionals on the flipper, kill on the bottom button (in black for 1971 and later red) and the upper button had no function (I wired mine to a pair small rocket launchers---I got the idea from an old James Bond movie), but the faithful were sure it was for a soon to be introduced starter. I think these switches prevailed through the 1974 model year and IIRC some housings were anodized black.

The castings were (are) identical and could easily be interchanged. The assemblies differed in wire color and that the hi/lo left hand flipper had only two positions whereas the right hand right/left directional flipper had three positions, the difference being in the molding of the flippers; two different parts.

Every now and then I see the electrical innards (switch contacts and plastic buttons/flippers) on E-bay or elsewhere.

Yes, but APRSV is asking what the difference is between the 06-3372(54340882) and 06-3373(54340883) right and left-hand lever pivot castings, not the actual switch clusters.

Found the answer. Upon closer inspection I see that the one of the pivot screw holes in each casting is threaded. The different part # relates to which side is threaded.

Thanks for the replies.
