Golden Globes, BAFTAs, Oscars… all pale in comparison to the prestigious Classic Bike Of The Year Competition!  And this year, there's just one Norton in the running: ‘Michael Davies’s 1971 Norton Commando’ (BIKE 5).

Here's the link: http://www.classicbike.co.uk/classic-bike-of-the-year/

There’s a 1000 Guinea grand prize and the winner will be announced at the London Motorcycle Show, where all the bikes will be on display.

If you’re interested, you can read the main text from the Classic Bike magazine feature here: https://www.pressreader.com/uk/classic-bike-uk/20161228/283003989464258

Anyone can vote, the more the merrier.  I’ll buy you all a drink if I win! (Terms and Conditions apply)

Many thanks,

Michael

Thank you. It's a work of love! Michael (1971 Norton Commando Roadster)

What do you think of the colour scheme? A bit Triumph-y, in a good way!

Hi Michael ,

Congrats for getting in the final , I have also cast my vote, vodka and red bull by the way.

I read the article and I was puzzled by the fact that it needed five new pinions surely if it needed that many did SRM not advise changing the whole cluster or was it just the writer talking bollocks?

Best of luck Jg

Oh, and I bought the first one I saw also.

Thanks guys. Re. the pinions, apparently only five out of eight needed changing; I was surprised too, but SRM assured me it was unnecessary to change the other three...
