My question regards his latest YouTube video where he says that the EI ignition he installed was negative ground.
Were Matchless X's of years '38-'40 negative ground from factory?

I dont know about the X, but in my matchless manual it shows both positive and negative wiring diagrams
I have 1949 matchless G80 rigid. I think earlier bikes were mostly positive earth. Cheers
