Hi All,
I am considering improving my front brake rotor. I am looking for options & opinions (I'm in the right place for the latter, OK?)

As I see it he options include:
(1) re-surfacing & drilling (per Old Britts)
(2) a larger rotor (not sure of supplier)
Other??

One question: can one mount 2 rotor & caliper assemblies on a Mark lll. My '75 has the ass'y on the left side while earlier are mounted on the right. Can one add an earlier right lower leg to a later bike to create 2?
Cheers!
Stephen

No. You will need a different hub etc. for twin discs, such as somebody like Norvil sells. Very expensive.
CNW do a good brake set up, depends on how much you want to spend. Drilling holes will make it look better, but will reduce your surface area slightly.
You could get the Master cylinder reduced in dia. or buy a recommended foreign (Yeugh!) Master cylinder.
Or just pull harder on the lever

The MkIII left hand (caliper retaining) slider is an identical part to the right side-pre MkIII slider, as all the factory did to transfer the brake from the right side to the left side on the 850 MkIII was to swap the fork legs over (and fit a new wheel assembly) one problem is that the wheel axle won't fit if both fork sliders have identical axle locations, also (as Flo posted while I was typing this) there's no way to mount a second disc rotor to the standard Commando hub.
