Last night, I took Damian (yes, I named my C'do) for a 100 mile ride on a loop that I normally ride. When I got home, I noticed that the odometer has quit working. Speedo is working fine, but the odo has gone kaput. I rode it again about 15 miles this morning and poof, not working. Again, speedo seems to be fine.

I plan to send the gauges off this winter to be restored anyway as they look like crap and have a very bouncy tach needle, but can someone shed some light on this phenomenon for me?

Thanks in advance.

Clean and Lube the tach cable.
Nisongers!
Odometer will return fine and dandy. The real question is what will you want it to read, 0 or what ever. I just rebuilt my machine and I suppose I could have ethically had them zero'ed it out but the title would have been suspiciously off. Left it at 42000+.

I don't know about anyone else but I'm kind of proud of the milage on my speedo. I wouldn't want to zero it out even after a total rebuild. It's only 0 once, that's new at the factory & everything after that counts as the life of the bike. It can never be 0 again.
