I bought a set of Amal Premiers for my Triumph Triple direct from Amal and the exact Pack for my motorbike. I ex[ected them to come "Plug and Play" but they didn't come with the Throttle rods and assembly. I disassembled them and used the old ones. I used the Throttle valve spring that came with the premiers which appeared to be stronger. Now that it's all together and running, the twist grip is uncomfortably hard to twist and hold. My guess is I need to tear it all down and use the old throttle valve springs. Has anyone else had experience with this. Thanks in advance.

Yes, you probably will, as the triple springs are lighter.
Thank you, disassembling now. Is there some trick in assembling the Throttle rod spring circlip? In the past I've tied the spring crushed with upholstery thread, then fit the circlip and cut the thread with an exacto blade, then pulled the thread out with tweezers. These are such a PITA. They must have had a special tool at the factory. I hear some just leave them out and hope the Throttle valve spring holds the needle clip down.

I can't help with that as my T160 has Mikuni carbs.

I believe so, but the best place to get that information would be on the Triples Online forum.

If you're asking about 6,7,8,9 you can do it two ways. One is normal AMAL where 6, 7, 9 are not used, just use the 8 on the needle and the spring holds the needle in place. You can also use 9 and the little circlip that some use. Basically, it you install the rod exactly as the test cable was installed, you are good - that's how I do them.

If you use the old springs, then keep this.
