1973 BMW R75/5

I just had my first exposure to the infamous bmw throttle. I'm using Mikuni's so I had to change out the cables. Between the greasey gears and the tiny cable ends not staying in the slots it took me a half dozen tries to get it back together. I was told to polish the bottom side of the gear for smoother gear action also.

I must admit that this is my first 5-page dissertation on throttle actuation.

...only with a BMW!

"BMW has a better idea" is my chant when the /5 is frustrating me, it's a REALLY good thing that it does not need much maintenance!

'I used to have a 73 toaster /5, and I could ride all day at 95+. '

MPH ? - faster than an Indian or a Harley side valve ? Rohan will be very cross.

My ring gear came off my BMW during practice the other day ( yes I am an electric start wimp)
Took about an hour to get the gearbox out, the flywheel off and all back together, nicely thought out bit of engineering I thought.
The ring gear however was not....riveted on... pffft.
I use a straight pull throttle on it thought.
I don't have the depth of wallet to run a Norton. :D
