Here are the original steering bearings from my March ‘69 750 S.
I did as a Dave mentioned, put later Commando ball bearings with modified tube spacer. I can always go back to the original if needed.

I can't quite read the numbers. Looks like (R&M) 23 or 25 LJT25.

R&M LJT seems to be an angular thrust bearing.

Assembled looks like this.

1969 commando Roadster steering yoke bearings

Outer is 29LJT25 R&M THRUST ENGLAND 97
Inner is 25L R&M 97
5/16”ball bearings

Thanks. I saw the 'THRUST' marking.
I'd forgotten DogT mentioned the R&M 29LJT25 in 2010.

Maybe available?
Wonder on the price?
Wonder if 29LJT25 are better than the conventional cup and cone/ball, which seem very pricy and most that I have opened up have dimpled/dented races...which may be a symptom of improper preloading?

Wonder if these loose ball bearings have been superseded by 7205, modern Single Row Angular Contact Ball Bearings where the balls are caged and the bearing is in one piece. In which case they can be found in 2RS configuration with 2 rubber seals.

Not sure if the original loose bearings I posted are still available. The ones Andover is selling for early Commando are cup and cone type which are different. I’m using Commando bearings and put the originals in a zip lock bag.

7205 do seem to be pricier.

I knew I had something to say about this a long time ago, but Les remembered for me since I can't.
