Do monobloc 389/236 and 689/236 carbs use a heat spacer, and if so what thickness? When shutting off engine after running the gas seems to perk a bit thru the lines...Right now I am only using a washer between manifold and head..

Is that spacer a gasket or is it phenolic spacer that requires gasket on each side?

Bill
The featherbed twins I've owned and worked on have the 1/8 hard phenolic insulators only. insulator goes at the head not carb.
There is no PN for gaskets on o-ring carbs(monobloc/concentric) or manifolds or insulators. 1" manifold for monobloc and 1-1/2" for concentrics. However I have a hard time finding documentation for the 1-1/2".

parts book terminology is not clear to me. spacer is insulator or aluminum manifold??? There are a few options possible. thick/thin...
Anyone seen the choke tube inserts?

It appears to be fiber or phenolic. I am looking at the edge, but as I remember when I had the carbs off, it was not used with any other gaskets.

That was only in the early 650 engines. ?
BenG showed pics of them here, some time back.
