Hi has anybody had any problems with there Öhlins forks
as mine have just started to leak at the joint where the leg meets the base.
these are not upside down forks there conventional forks.
regards

We work on a lot of Ohlins forks, but very few Conventional forks, like yours.
There is an O ring in there , the threaded area is always locktited in with at least a red or green locktite, so leaks are very rare.

I see in the picture a pair of plugs, and you also have the compression valve in that area, we have see leaks from the compression sealing area.

Could you take a picture and point out where it is leaking?

The Norton service manual does not provide the parts breakdown of the forks internals . Are these manuals available for download ? Thanks for posting .

Sure
Send me an email, at dan@kyleusa.com and I can email a PDF parts list file.
We can provide any of the Ohlins Replacement parts s as well.

Hi Dan
I’ve taken the fork leg out and I’ve looked it might have a crack in the alloy base, I’ve seen this before on other items where they are trying to save weight and it’s caused by a weld or moulding.
but I’ll have to do a weld crack test first.
regards clive

im sure I sent info on this in my emails. If not, shoot me an email and I’ll reply back with info.

Hi all bit late on replying regarding my fork leak r/hand side. Anyway it was a base/foot leak the o/ring let by.
the work was completed by brook suspension up north and I’ll like to say it was a cracking job.
I can’t thank them enough for the job they did. They now have the tooling to do these norton ohlin forks
Thanks to my bank account yep I paid for the tooling work.
But I went into the garage two weeks ago only to find a puddle of fluid on the left hand side “bugger“ nope
it was a leaking calliper the seal was letting by due to grit between the piston and calliper.
So I took it to work and clean all parts and lubed the seals when refitted all ok now.
make a note to myself MUST USE THE NORTON MORE.
Anyway I was reading about alloy tanks for 961 Norton’s has anyone got one yet as I’m looking.
